Check Out The New Turntable Videos Page!

Some of you may already be familiar with my YouTube channel where I post video of my vinyl spinning. I use it as a tool to assist bidders who are interested in the records I list on eBay, just as a way to actually hear the record prior to bidding (it's always nice to know what the record sounds like to help determine its value). Well, YouTube is constantly blocking my videos as most of them are breaking some asinine, counterproductive copyright laws, which is another story altogether.

So, ANYWAY, I discovered a way to work around the annoying copyright issues that exist on YouTube and, for the fun of it, I decided to post the videos here for your uncensored viewing!

Occasionally, when I spin some old record I haven't listened to in a while, I'll come across a song that begs to be heard by the masses (well, at least the lovely folks that stumble across these pages, anyway). So, I thought I'd share.

Check it out when you get a chance. And, if you're familiar with my record collection, feel free to contact me with a request. Also, If you're experiencing problems with the media player, please let me know. I've played around with several and feel the osmf flash player is the most browser friendly and least cumbersome. And it's super easy for me to create the embed code!

Vinyl Hounds Blog Now Up!

Yes, it may seem that I have been pretty inactive here over the last couple of weeks. Where's all that vinyl you're supposedly pushing, you might ask. No new auctions, no new posts, no new nothing!

Well, I'll have you know, I have been plugging away at a new blog that I've been wanting to start for a while now. Consider it a companion site to Pushing Vinyl. Where PV is focused on my LP collection, selling it or listing it on eBay, Vinyl Hounds will be all about your LP collection - helping you build it by keeping you informed.

As the name implies, I'll be sniffing out all sorts of vinyl deals and any other tastey treats. I've been at this record collecting thing for such a long time, I've really become quite good at it - knowing when pre-orders become available, where to find limited releases BEFORE they sell out, how to get awesome records at rock-bottom prices, and so much more.

The new blog title is plural because I see Vinyl Hounds as being a collective. I'm a hound, you're a hound, he's a hound, she's a hound - we're all hounds trying to find the same thing; the music we love on VINYL! So, I want to help you get the deals, the tips, the tricks, the whatever as quickly and easily as possible.... so you don't end up on eBay paying 10X the original retail price for a long out of print record. Unless it's one of mine... then it's worth every penny!

The blog will also be a work in progress, with the intention of adding different elements along the way - maybe a message board for buying, selling, and trading your records... perhaps a page devoted to subscriber record collecting stories. I'm always interested in hearing how other people got started collecting or what cool records they found for a dollar! Who knows, I'll see how it goes.

I also know we all have different tastes in music but, if you've seen my collection, you know there isn't much I don't like. So, I'll try to keep the genres pretty diverse and not cater to any one particular style. Although, I will say, you will probably find more indie rock tidbits here than anything else.

That's about it. I'd appreciate it if you go and check it out. Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions, I'm always open to new ideas.

Taking A Break!

With this last round of auctions now over, I've decided to take a little time away from rekkids. You know what they say; all work and no play makes me really cranky. Do not fret, however! I'll be back in October with a fresh batch of the stuff you live for - flat, shiny vinyl. In the meantime, I'll be...

Yeah, right!

Maybe 20 years ago!

Getting closer.

This is more like it!

No More YouTube :-(

Oh well, seems like the executives in charge didn't like me posting videos of their artists songs. Something about copyright infringement, blah, blah, blah. Leave it to the record label geniuses to discourage promotion and artist visibility. Anyway, it's not worth the hassle. I'll stop before they get all crazy on me. Maybe I'll try again sometime in the near future.

Some Additional Info

Okay, so this is definitely generating some interest... let me add a few things of note: First off, thanks for checking it out!!! When I refer to custom sleeves in the album list it is a little misleading, I meant to say custom INNER sleeves. In some cases, records just have a generic white paper or poly inner sleeve. If the record includes the original custom inner sleeve (like with liner notes or lyrics) I will indicate it in the notes. As for your interest, Thank you for that, too! But I really do not have any set prices in mind which is why I asked for offers. The plan is to eventually put everything up on eBay but I thought I'd open them to your offers first. I'm sorry if this discourages anyone from making an offer but you might as well ask, I can only say no... or YES. But I will say that if it's anything from the '90s or '00s that's out of print, you'd really have to wow me with an offer. If it's a common LP, easily available in your local record store used bin, I'd definitely consider a very fair and affordable offer. But so you know, all of that rare OOP stuff from the last 12 years or so will have a starting bid of 99 cents. So that may persuade you to wait until I list it. Anyway, I hope that helps. If you don't dig records but you know someone who does...spread the news... you've found the mother load!

LP Database Has Gone Live!

I just posted the full list of LPs this morning. If you see something you like, let me know. I will consider all realistic offers prior to listing an auction. Once the auction has posted though, that's it, I will not accept any further offers. So check it out at your earliest convenience. Auctions will start going live around August 10, 2010. The Fine Print

Here are the finer points if interested in bidding... fact I am liquidating my entire collection of LPs – over 2,500 albums accumulated over the last forty years. Since I am a solo act with a day job, family responsibilities, and have so many records to list, I suggest you check back often as it will probably take me several months to list everything. Seriously. It’s going to take me a long time. what All records are original pressings unless otherwise noted and have been stored vertically on shelves since they’ve been in my possession. The collection spans the last five decades and consists of many genres. Lots of rarities, some promos, many landmark recordings. I grade everything conservatively using the visual Goldmine standards (I invite you to check my past feedback). All photos posted are of the actual item being offered. how I will be posting my newer vinyl first, (stuff pressed in the ‘90s and ‘00s) and will work my way backwards to the beginning of time (artists like Elvis, Little Richard, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, and the like will be the last to go). Occasionally, when it makes sense, I will auction an entire artist's collection or sub-genre as a multi-LP lot in hopes of minimizing the work involved to list and ship such a vast collection. discover Additionally, if you would like to learn more about these recordings and the artists, you can click the link to my website where I will showcase each LP up for auction. Please check it out to sample some of the songs, see additional photos, view the track lists, and more. I will also attempt to include interesting facts, stories, and/or details regarding the artists and recording sessions when possible. ¿cuánto? All auctions will start at $ .99 with no reserve - seems fair to me. mail I will ship once a week, typically on Tuesdays, and mail every item that has been paid for by the end of the previous Sunday. Media mail with professional packaging is $3.99. Additional LPs are $1.50 domestic so, please check my other auctions. I remove the record from the sleeve when shipping and include a poly or paper sleeve for protection. Important - media mail may take up to two weeks for delivery! I will ship priority US mail upon request. Please contact me for a quote. Please contact me for quotes on international shipping. Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding. International shipping via first class can take a month or more from the shipping date - I have no control over shipping time. *IMPORTANT* As of this writing it is rumored that the USPS will be increasing its rates yet again! Since I have no idea if and when this will actually happen, I reserve the right to adjust my shipping charges in accordance with any rate changes that the USPS imposes. This increase, if imposed, will take effect concurrently with any USPS increases. Trust me, I won't gouge you. I'll keep in line with current shipping charges, enough to cover my supplies and actual shipping costs. etc. Stay tuned as this will be an ever evolving project with records being added daily. Add me to your favorite sellers list and don’t forget to add the eBay mobile app on your smart phone so you can keep up while you’re on the move!
