Yes, it may seem that I have been pretty inactive here over the last couple of weeks. Where's all that vinyl you're supposedly pushing, you might ask. No new auctions, no new posts, no new nothing!
Well, I'll have you know, I have been plugging away at a new blog that I've been wanting to start for a while now. Consider it a companion site to Pushing Vinyl. Where PV is focused on my LP collection, selling it or listing it on eBay, Vinyl Hounds will be all about your LP collection - helping you build it by keeping you informed.
As the name implies, I'll be sniffing out all sorts of vinyl deals and any other tastey treats. I've been at this record collecting thing for such a long time, I've really become quite good at it - knowing when pre-orders become available, where to find limited releases BEFORE they sell out, how to get awesome records at rock-bottom prices, and so much more.
The new blog title is plural because I see Vinyl Hounds as being a collective. I'm a hound, you're a hound, he's a hound, she's a hound - we're all hounds trying to find the same thing; the music we love on VINYL! So, I want to help you get the deals, the tips, the tricks, the whatever as quickly and easily as possible.... so you don't end up on eBay paying 10X the original retail price for a long out of print record. Unless it's one of mine... then it's worth every penny!
The blog will also be a work in progress, with the intention of adding different elements along the way - maybe a message board for buying, selling, and trading your records... perhaps a page devoted to subscriber record collecting stories. I'm always interested in hearing how other people got started collecting or what cool records they found for a dollar! Who knows, I'll see how it goes.
I also know we all have different tastes in music but, if you've seen my collection, you know there isn't much I don't like. So, I'll try to keep the genres pretty diverse and not cater to any one particular style. Although, I will say, you will probably find more indie rock tidbits here than anything else.
That's about it. I'd appreciate it if you go and check it out. Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions, I'm always open to new ideas.
